    東京大学大学院理学系研究科物理学専攻 大統一理論が存在を予言する,宇宙誕生初期に創られ現在も地球に降り注いでいるかもしれない磁気単極子等の超重粒子を,160m2という大面積のCR-39プラスチック飛跡検出器を神岡鉱山の地下に設置して探索した。結果として超重粒子の飛跡は見つからなかったが,世界最高レベルの流束の上限値を更新する,超重粒子の速度の関数で10-14から10-13cm-2 s-1sr-1という流束の上限値を得て,その実験研究をまとめた。
