ソフトマターの粘弾性を定量化する指標は、主に貯蔵弾性率G’等が用いられる。G’は、試料に正弦歪γ(最大γ_0)を与えたときの応答応力σ(最大σ_0)が正弦波となる線形粘弾性
(LVE)を仮定して計算する。しかし、実のところ、γ_0 が数%を超えるとσが正弦波からゆがむ非線形性粘弾性(NLVE)が現れる。但し、NLVE が発現しても、G’ 等の LVE 指標は解析ソフト上では出力されるため、通常に測定しているとNLVE にはあまり注意が払われていない場合も多い。本研究では、σをγと歪速度dγ/dt を軸としてプロットした3 次元リサージュ曲線(3D-Li)の曲率κでNLVE を指標化する新しい方法を提案する。本方法によれば、粘弾性を線形、弱い非線形、強い非線形の3 領域に明確に区別することが出来る。 -

ダイラタンシー性ポリイオンコンプレックス水溶液(DiPIC)はポリアニオンとポリカチオン
の希薄高分子溶液である。これは静置状態では低粘度の水溶液だが、ある臨界値g_c [1/s] より大
きい剪断流を加えると一定時間t_I [s] 経過後に急激な粘度上昇を示しゲル化する。
我々はDiPIC のポリイオンが次の3つの状態のいずれかにあるとし、ゲル化する過程を考察した -

カチオン性ホモポリマー(PC)とアニオン性ランダムコポリマー(PA)から成るPIC(ポリイオンコンプレックス)溶液は、非常に希薄であるが、剪断を与えると急激な粘度上昇を示す[1]。この性質が、PICで報告された例はなく、未だ明らかではない点も多い。本研究ではPC・PAの分子量がPICの粘度上昇の容易さや粘度等にどのような影響を及ぼすのかについて調べた。

希薄ポリイオンコンプレックス(PIC)系は、外力を与えると過渡的にゲル化し、静置することで元の低粘度状態に戻る再帰性を有する[1]。この粘度変化は剪断によって誘起される、光の波長程度の大きさをもった構造が影響していると想定される。PIC系の応用を考える上で、粘度の保持に関わる値(以下τ)は重要となる。そこで、本研究では、光学とレオロジーの同時測定を可能とするシステムを構築し、τの推定と構造変化の調査を目的とした。
