<p>The voltage regulation in distribution systems becomes more important these days due to the more complicated power flow profile caused by the integration of variable renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic (PV). Step voltage regulator (SVR) and load ratio controlled transformer (LRT) have been mainly used for the voltage regulation conventionally based on decentralized control methods using line drop compensation (LDC) logic for estimation of voltage drop at secondary side of the SVR. Here, it has been required for distribution system operator to determine LDC parameters properly to estimate the voltage drop based on locally measured information. Hence, in this paper, we proposed an advanced LDC logic in which the parameters can be flexibly switched based on the power flow conditions. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified using 41-node distribution system model with PV.</p>

<p>In distribution systems, the introduction of SVC (Static Var Compensator) that can rapidly control reactive power is expected to cope with the steep voltage changes caused by PV (photovoltaic) output changes in terms of proper voltage profile management. On the other hand, voltage control equipment with tap changer such as SVR (Step Voltage Regulator) has been widely used for voltage control in the distribution systems with relatively long feeder lines. It is important issue to fully utilize those ongoing conventional voltage controllers in order to reduce capital investment cost. An interaction between SVC and SVR is one of important issues when they are connected with the same feeder line. Hence, in this paper, we developed a cooperative voltage control method which can realize more reasonable tap operation of SVR based on estimation technique of reactive power output from SVC supposing only local information is available for SVR control.</p>

<p>To solve energy and environmental issue, Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) has been greatly promoted and power flow in transmission system becomes more uncertain due to VRE output fluctuation. N-1 criterion has been applied to determine secure generation dispatch or clearing point in the market so far, however, more strict risk management will be needed in the near future with more VRE integration. In this paper, a new market mechanism is proposed to determine clearing point considering overloading probability in addition to N-1 criterion. Supposing the clearing point can be given as a solution of optimal power flow calculation, congestion management is available with adjusting upper and lower limits of thermal capacity of transmission lines in the formulation. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified through numerical simulation using modified IEEE New England 39 bus system model with taking into account bidding curves of both suppliers and customers.</p>

<p>Introduction of renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaic (PV) and wind turbine (WT), might cause supply-and-demand imbalance over a long time. As a countermeasure for supply-and-demand imbalance, wide-area supply-and-demand control considering tie-line between control areas is considered. As the controlled area expands, the number of generators for satisfying ramp-rate and spinning-reserve also increases. Moreover, since a large number of PV and WT are installed over a wide-area, the output of each PV and WT is almost uncorrelated and smoothed by statistical properties. In this paper, a long-term analysis model for determining optimal output while calculating frequency and tie-line power deviation is used for evaluating the wide-area supply-and-demand control. The simulation results reveal that the frequency of power systems and the fuel cost of generators can be decreased by wide-area supply-and-demand control.</p>

<p>Recently, distributed generation using renewable energy sources has increased in power systems to solve environmental problems and resource exhaustion problems. However, conventional reliability evaluation methods of power systems cannot easily evaluate power systems with massive penetration of distributed generations because of the loop switching operation. This paper proposes the reliability evaluation method with reference to the concept of reliability controls. This method controls power system states by the loop switching operation and evaluates power system reliability of controlled state. Therefore, proposed method can evaluate power system while considering the effect of loop switching operation. Moreover, this system helps the decision of power system operators because it quantitatively selects the best operation from the reliability evaluation result.</p>

太陽光発電の普及拡大に伴い,電力系統全体としては需給管理を適正に維持する手法が重要な課題となる。可制御な分散型電源の出力を活用して,周波数維持に貢献させることが可能であるが,分散型電源の出力変動は配電系統においてローカルな電圧変動の一因となる。このため,系統貢献を目的とした分散型電源の制御として,周波数と電圧の両者を考慮した制御手法を提案した。

太陽光発電の普及拡大により生じた電圧管理問題の対策として,原因者負担の原則に基づいて接続料金を回収すると共に,これを源資として電圧適正化に必要な無効電力を調達する手法を提案した。電圧変動の様相,ならびに無効電力の制御効果は時間および分散電源の接続箇所に依存して変化するため,本論文では無効電力の買取価格の提示手法にリアルタイム性をもたせることで,オンラインでの運用手法を提案した。
