    A theory for ferromagnetism in dilute magnetic semiconductors (Ga,Mn)As and (Ga,Mn)N is presented, accompanied with numerical calculations starting at quantum mechanical calculations on the atomic scale, as well as Monte Carlo simulations for microscopic structure and phase transition points.

    The theoretical methods to calculate electronic structure of magnetic semiconductors is presented, together with an application in magnetic semiconductors, predicting the cluster formation of Mn atoms in the GaAs host material. Cluster stability and ferromagnetic interactions are studied from direct total energy minimizations, and the impact of clustering on the ferromagnetic interactions is investigated.
