This article has two objectives: to trace the historical development of sound sculpture and to suggest a hypothesis about using the term 'sound sculpture' and 'sound art.' For the first objective, this paper refers to some resources to describe the sound sculpture's developmental history. This part will contribute to the future discussion about the History of Sound in the Arts. For the second objective, this paper explores the exhibition Sound/Art (1984). Moreover, this part examines the related documents such as a press release, the statement in the exhibition catalog, and some news-clippings. By doing so, this part suggests the hypothesis about the usage of the term 'sound sculpture' and 'sound art,' which argues that 'sound sculpture' has become a sub-category of 'Sound Art.'
This article is part of my research on the situation around Sound in the Arts, mainly in New York City during the 1980s. I have done another research around that topic and made an oral presentation at The annual meeting of The Japanese Society for Aesthetics (online) on October 3rd, 2020, which I plan to publish as an academic article shortly.

羅針盤、渚にてと並び関西三大うたものバンドと称されたラブクライの中心人物で、ラブクライ活動休止後はPONY、LETTER、三沢洋紀とゆふいんの森、真 夜中ミュージックといったバンドで活動し、昨年は柴田聡子の1stアルバム『しばたさとこ島』、今年は都市レコード『road to you』のプロデューサーとして、その音楽的才能を遺憾無く発揮した三沢洋紀。
彼が、THE BITE / U.G MANの岡林コゾウ大輔、OKミュージックボールの中川克志、ラブクライのメンバーでもあった宮地健作と結成したバンド、三沢洋紀と岡林ロックンロール・ センターが、2012年7月発売のCD-Rの8曲入りアルバム『三沢洋紀と岡林ロックンロール・センター』に続き、ファースト・フル・アルバムを完成させた。
三沢洋紀にとって、プレスCDとしては2012年2月発売の『真夜中ミュージック』(限定300枚)、全国流通盤としては2009年の『三沢洋紀とゆふいんの森』以来となる本作は、プロデューサーにKIRIHITO、GROUP、younGSoundsのメンバーとして、刺激的なサウンドを追求し続けている竹久圏を起用。予てからお互いの活動に注目していたという二人がここ数年で急接近し、三沢にとっては念願の竹久とのコラボレートが実現する こととなった。
ラブクライ時代から定評のある三沢のソングライティング能力やポップ・センスは更に磨かれ、ギター・プレイヤーとしても参加した竹久のハードコアやクラブシーンにも精通した不良性の高い歪な音像やリズム・センス、ジャンルを超越したオルタナティヴなエッセンスによって、単なるうたも の作品では味わうことの出来ない多彩な魅力が詰まった傑作アルバムとなった。
録音、ミックス、マスタリングは近年のテニスコーツやマジキック作品には欠かせない存在となっているサウンド・アーティスト、大城真が担当。
三沢の甘いヴォーカルといぶし銀なバンド・アンサンブルによる、アーシーかつアーバンというアンビヴァレンツなサウンドが奇跡的に融合した、今の日本では他に例を見ない、洒脱な大人のロックンロール・アルバムに仕上がっている。
人生の酸いも甘いも知り尽くした男達が奏でる、この豊潤なバンド・サウンドにどっぷりと酔いしれて欲しい。

本研究「日本におけるサウンド・アートの成立過程の調査」の目的は、日本においてサウンド・ アートが登場してきた経緯の調査である。「サウンド・アート」という言葉が盛んに使われるよう になった 19 80 年代を中心に、(1)インタビュー調査 と(2)文献調査を行う。日本におけるサウ ンド・アートの登場に関す る先行研究はほとんど存在しないため、本研究では基礎的な資料の収 集整備を重視する。また、その成果を、 日本より 10 年ほど遅れてサウンド・アートを制作するよ うになった(3)台湾、香港、韓国などの状況と比較す ることで、日本におけるサウンド・アート の文化的位置づけの独自性の考察を試みる。これらの研究を通じて 、「日本におけるサウンド・ アート」に関する研究と、日本における「サウンド・アートに関する研究」に貢 献したい。

本研究は、1990年代初頭に始まった台湾における「サウンド・アート（聲音藝術、sound art）」の歴史について、その始まりから現在に至る系譜を明らかにしようとするものである。本研究では、台湾におけるサウンド・アートのパイオニアの一人である王福瑞の活動を中心に調査する。彼の活動を軸として予備調査に基づいてリストアップした「２．内容」の人々にインタビュー調査を行うことで、90年代から現在に至る台湾におけるサウンド・アートの概要を明らかにできるだろう。この領域の研究はまだほとんど整備されておらず、本研究には一次資料を準備するという意義がある。
台湾におけるサウンド・アートの特徴は、戒厳令が解除された90年代以降に展開したことである。また、日本や欧米では「サウンド・アート」と呼ばれる音を用いる視覚美術だけではなく、日本や欧米で80年代頃に登場した「ノイズ・ミュージック」と呼ばれる音楽もまた、「サウンド・アート（聲音藝術、sound art）」という名称で言及されることも特徴である。これらの特徴は、日本、香港、欧米、中華人民共和国等の相互影響関係の中から生じたトランスナショナルな性格を示すものとして、重要である。本研究には、アジア諸国の文化の相互影響関係の事例研究である、という意義もある。
それゆえ、本研究は、まず第一に、台湾における「サウンド・アート（聲音藝術、sound art）」の系譜において諸活動がどのような布置を形成しているかを探り、第二に、それらがアジア諸国のなかでどのようなトランスナショナルな力学のもとで形成されてきたのか、ということを明らかにしたい。本研究は、究極的には、アジアにおける西洋化と近代化にかかわる文化のメカニズムの解明に貢献せんとするものである。
