  This quasi-experimental study examined the effects of task repetition (TR) combined with pre-task form-focused instruction (FFI) using chants on Japanese fifth graders’ grammatical accuracy. Ninety students were divided into three groups: TR only, TR with chants, and TR with chants plus explicit instruction (EI). Results showed that TR with pre-task FFI enhanced grammatical accuracy, with the Chant + EI group showing the most consistent improvement and heightened grammatical awareness.

  This dissertation examines the role of output in L2 acquisition and evaluates VanPatten’s (1996) claim that input-processing (IP) alone drives learning. The study compared pushed-output (PO) tasks (dictogloss and jigsaw) with IP tasks among 78 Japanese senior high school students. Written pre- and post-tests assessed comprehension and production of ‘-ing/-ed adjectives,’ and four students’ dictogloss dialogue was transcribed. A questionnaire was also administered. Results showed that PO and IP groups improved equally, challenging VanPatten’s claim and highlighting the potential value of output practice in L2 learning.

  本研究は、大学の一般英語授業に内容重視の指導法（CBLT/CLIL）を導入し、学習者の英語スキル・内容理解・情意面への効果を質的に検証した。結果、学術的で実生活にも関連する内容を英語で学ぶことにより、学生の読解・聴解力が向上し、英語学習への意欲や自律的な学びの姿勢が高まることが明らかになった。

  本稿では、SLA理論に基づき、ライティング活動をスピーキング活動に組み込む実践例を示した。ライティングは即興的プレッシャーが少なく事前計画や再検討が可能で、言語形式への注意を高め、文法・語彙の正確性を担保する。スピーキング後に効果的に組み合わせることで、アウトプットの質や学習者の意欲向上が期待されることを示した。

  本研究では、英語授業でのコミュニケーション活動内における適切な明示的文法指導のタイミングが、学習者の正確な文法運用力に効果があるかを検証する。さらに文法項目の複雑さや学習者の個人差に応じて、最適な明示的指導のタイミングも提案する。現行の英語教育の現場ではコミュニケーション活動に文法指導が効果的に統合されていないケースが見受けられる。本研究では、コミュニケーション活動の事前・事後、または活動中に文法指導を適切に行うことの効果を文法項目の複雑さに応じて検証し、教室での指導に有益な提案も行いたい。

  本研究は、明示的文法指導後にコミュニカティブな文法練習を継続することで学習者の文法知識の手続化・自動化を検証した。FFP活動では、積極的な発話や文法的正確性の向上が確認され、oral dictoglossでは協働による意識的処理が促された。一方、事前指導なしのFUP群では目標文法の使用は限定的で、明示的指導と実践活動の連携の重要性が示された。
