    In recent years, 3D printers have been introduced not only in high schools and universities, but also in elementary and middle schools, and have been utilized in various situations. Digital fabrication skills are considered one of the essential skills for future educators. The main objective of this study is to train technology education teachers proficient in digital fabrication. To this end, we propose a course for university students where they design gear mechanisms using 3D CAD and fabricate them using a 3D printer. In this paper, we report the results of fabricating a south-pointing chariot as a teaching material for learning the mechanism of differential gears and verifying its indication accuracy. Relatively high indication accuracy was achieved by using 3D CAD and a 3D printer to design and fabricate the south-pointing chariot. Furthermore, it was also revealed that this south-pointing chariot could be utilized as a teaching material that captures students' interest.

    Technology and Home Economics classes provide education on food production and
    consumption. The former is covered in Technology classes, while the latter is addressed in Home
    Economics classes. Although the content of these subjects is independent according to the Courses
    of Study, there are instances where lessons are linked, such as through integrating cultivation practices in Technology with cooking practices in Home Economics. One of the criteria for selecting cultivation materials in Technology is the ease of cultivation. As a result, some varieties that might be beneficial for collaboration with Home Economics cooking practices may be avoided as cultivation materials. This study primarily aimed to develop a curriculum that integrates cultivation practices in Technology classes with cooking practices in Home Economics classes, and it clarified the current state of cultivation materials used in Technology classes. Additionally, the study identified carrots as a useful vegetable for linking cultivation practices in Technology with cooking practices in Home Economics. Furthermore, an automatic irrigation system was developed to manage soil moisture, which is crucial for carrot cultivation.
