Shinichi Shirakawa received his B.E., M.E. degrees, and Ph.D. degree in engineering from Yokohama National University in 2005, 2007, and 2009, respectively. He was a research fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 2008 to 2010. He worked at FUJITSU LABORATORIES LTD. from 2010 to 2012 as a researcher. He was a research associate and an assistant professor at Aoyama Gakuin University from 2012 to 2013 and from 2013 to 2015, respectively. He was an assistant professor at the University of Tsukuba from 2015 to 2016. He was a lecturer and an associate professor at Yokohama National University from 2016 to 2021 and from 2021 to 2024, respectively. He is currently a professor at Yokohama National University. His research interests include evolutionary computation, machine learning, computer vision, and so on.
