    東京大学理学系研究科 シリコン表面の塩素エッチングを光照射で誘起し,STMで詳細に観察した。最表面原子層のシリコンアドアトムが単塩化物の場合には安定であるが,二塩化物・三塩化物になると脱離を引き起こし,第二層目の表面周期構造(レストアトム)が現れることを報告した。レスとアトム層に特徴的な欠陥から,光脱離が熱的な平衡とは異なる過程で生じていることを示唆した。
